Bowmore 08-17-07, 09:05 AM	I've had Complete Warrior for a while, but one thing always catches my eye when I flip through it. The Kensai ability Power Surge, which gives a +8 strength bonus for a couple rounds with a DC 15 Concentration check. The thing about this ability is that it can be used unlimited times, but each time it's used in a 24-hour period, the DC increases by 5. I can't be the only one who saw potential in a mechanic like this. You could build a whole spellcasting system around it, or adapt it to any number of ability sets. You have unlimited uses, but each use past the first makes it harder to succeed. Has anyone else done anything with this mechanic?
trapspringer 08-17-07, 10:22 AM	Yea, I broke it when I wanted to challenge the party to a grapple match. Be careful with stuff like this, it's got potential cheese in the same way that a boulder at the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro has potential energy. d20 slayer uses a system a lot like this, but I'm not really that familiar with it so I don't wanna' say anything specific.
