I've been looking through my new copy of UA, and I was wondering about Legendary Items. I think they're a great concept, something different for campaigns that has nice flavor by default. I'd like to introduce it into my campaign, but there are only a few examples of these in UA. Does anyone have other examples that they've made of these? I'm working on one now, and will post it here when I'm finished.

MAGEBANE (Based on the dragonblade in UA)

-: +2 to saves against arcane spells/spell-like abilities
1: Bane (arcanists)
2: SR 20
3: +3 weapon (+5 vs. arcanists)
4: Counterspell
5: SR 25
6: +4 weapon (+6 vs. arcanists)
7: Dispel Magic
8: SR 30
9: Spell Turning
10: +5 weapon (+7 vs. arcanists)

Functions as +2 longsword (CL 15th)

Prerequisites (warrior scion):
-BAB +9
-Improved Critical (longsword)
-9 ranks knowledge (arcana)

Spell Resistance: Once per day, if the weilder of Magebane is hit with an arcane spell that allows spell resistance, he immediately gain Spell resistance 20 for one hour. This increases to SR 25 at 5th level and SR 30 at 8th.
Bane (arcanists): The enhancement bonus for Magebane is increased by 2 against opponents that can cast arcane spells or spell-like abilities that mimic arcane spells. In addition, the sword also deals and extra 1d6 damage against these opponents.

Counterspell: Twice per day, the weilder of Magebane can choose to ready a counterspell. This ability acts as a dispel magic spell of CL 10th, and only works against arcane spells.

Dispel Magic: Whenever Magebane strikes an opponent, the target is subject to a targeted Dispel Magic (CL 10th).

Spell Turning: This ability, usable once per day, functions identically to the wizard spell of the same name (caster level 15th).

Honestly, I think the point of a legendary item is to customize it with your world, and make it a major plot point. The examples are just there to help you make your own.
Also, bane should deal an extra 2d6.
The SR looked broken until I read the blurb that said 1/day for 1 hour. You should rename the ability on the chart, so it's not confused with actual SR abilities. Perhaps Instant SR or Temporary SR...
The important thing is you put a lot of plot around it and intertwine it into your world.
