belthazzar1113 03-03-06, 01:30 AM	ok here is the situation i have a player playing a minataur character from level 1. He is useing a savage progression to play the 6 race levels and 2 ecl. I am letting other people in the group buy off their ECLs as per the rules in unearthed arcana. (have a tiefling, a fendish human, and a half-giant) His question is when can he buy off the ECL for his class? its only +2 ecl, so would he be able to buy it off after 6 levels? or does he have to wait six levels after his savage progression is over? or three or six levels after the first level where he doesn't gain a HD and thus is then an ECL +1 effectivly? its rough going, and this is one that can be argued back and forth alot of different ways... so i am hesitant to just rule zero -because i am the dm- decide it. is there offical errata or ruling on this or is it a mystery?
Sir Todd 03-03-06, 09:56 AM	This is no mystery. It clearly says monster HD do not count toward the level requirement. And racial progressions are just racial HD and LA spread out level by level. They aren't true classes. The character must wait 6 class levels after completing the Minotaur racial progression.
