| Gimric06-25-04, 04:19 PM | Question(s) 1. Has anyone used it? 2. I know they gave a new advancement chart in line with the the new Monster XP Awards but I noticed that a CR1 = 300 XP in this system which corresponds to a Level 4 Character vs. a CR4 creature. I guess my question is this... Are CR1 creatures so powerful that they deserve 300xp? |
| jagggar06-25-04, 04:44 PM | 1. Not yet. Once I get a chance to run a game, I'll be using it though. 2. Not quite sure what you're saying. In the table in the DMG, CR 1 monsters give 300 XP (for 1st-6th level). Has their power changed? |
| Slippery Mind II06-25-04, 05:04 PM | I think you are referring to the "fixed" exp system, ala 2E. I don't like this system, myself, so i will never use it. Essentially it means if a 20th level character kills a hobgoblin, they get 300 exp. I don't buy it, myself. I like the system we have now, so that if you're high enough level, there's nothing you can learn by sneezing on a dire rat and killing it. |
