| StruckingFuggle01-31-08, 02:23 PM | I was thinking of a house rule that your caster / manifester level cannot exceed your HD + the stat that sets the DC of those spells; specialized effects like Wild Mage's -3+1d6 or Wild Surge would allow that cap to be exceeded on a per-case basis. Things like Bead of Karma or however people get super-powered Holy Words... would not. Thoughts? |

| StruckingFuggle01-31-08, 06:07 PM | It's not a problem in my games, but the problem that it could be a problem came to mind (same with how I, as the DM, briefly had a pc who jacked his caster level - at level 6 - for fire spells high enough to break the rule, and a PC could've done the same)... in case it ever would be, well... The rule was an idea that crossed my mind; and I was curious what other people thought. Honestly, rather than banning anything specific - because it's probably benign on its own - I was thinking that addressing the problem more directly would be the better answer. |
