Greetings all,

I introduced a plot device, a Living Teleport, to teleport a member of my party somewhere to learn about something that they can take advantage of at later levels. Obviously, this is a house rule since the Teleport spell can only be used on willing recipients, and the living spell forces teleportation.

Now, the player who was teleported knew nothing about oozes, and was not aware that they are blind and possess blindsense, so she used an Essence Node of Blinding to cast Blindness on the ooze. Obviously, this would have no effect, but I am tempted to give it one for plot purposes. I am wondering about the ramifications of making creatures with Blindsight vulnerable to Blindness. I was thinking that I could make it a special function of the character's Essence Node of Blinding (hidden from even the Identify spell, as the item was already identified), or make it that in general, the unlife from the Blindness/Deafness spell usually works on creatures with Blindsight, removing the blindsight from them.

Which of these two options makes more sense? Also, if the ooze does become blinded, does anyone have any suggestions for how a blind ooze would act? Would it just sit there, not knowing what to do?

I think it would spill across the floor, becoming an inch deep everywhere in the room. If no enemy was felt, it would slip away under a door or into a well. If it found feet, it would engulf the victim.

So a blind ooze might be worse.... worse, but funnier for you (:
