I made ones myself, but I'm pretty sure they're terrible. I've heard of a book called Arms Law, but I'm a bit strapped for cash right now. Wondering if anyone on this site has made any, or knows where to get some good ones? My current house rule is that on a fumble the character makes a DC 10 dex check or drops their weapon, hoping to get more options/randomness.

Make it up on the fly depending on circumstances? I've had botches be anything from a dropped weapon to embedding your sword into the wall to accidentally beheading the guy behind you to nothing at all.

the Dragon Compendium VolumeI has an AMAZING critical hit/fumble chart in the back of it.

Here is the system I'm using in my campaign currently.

Critical Misses:
When rolling a natural 1 on an attack make a Reflex save (DC 10). If the save fails, roll 1d20 on the table below.
All effects last until the start of the creatures next turn.

Critical Miss Table*
1. Roll Twice on Table (Roll separately for each result)
2. Drop Item Held in Hand (Your hand was hit, or you lose your grip, you are disarmed, or etc.) Item lands in your square.
3. Lose Shield Bonus to AC (Shield knocked out of alignment, or you lose control of it, or etc.)
4. Roll to hit Ally instead (Someone got in your way at the last moment, or you are really off)
5. One random enemy gets an AoO (You accentually drop your guard, an enemy drops you off balance, or etc.)
6. Lose any additional attacks (Stumble, off-balance, weapons caught up, or etc.)
7. Dazed (Off balance, slightly stunned, in pain, or etc.)
8. Dazzled (Glint of sun in the eyes, dust or blood or other particle in the eyes, or etc.)
9. Deafened (Hit in the head or momentarily deafened due to a loud noise, or etc.)
10. Fatigued (Over swung, out of breath, tired out, or etc.)
11. Flat-footed (Stumbled, let down guard for a moment, tired, tripped, or etc.)
12. Prone (Tripped, fell down, stumbled, or etc.)
13. Shaken (Surprised, horrified, shocked, nervous, jittery, or etc.)
14. Sickened (A wound leaves you nauseated, sight of blood makes you woozy, sprained something, or etc.)
15-19. Roll until receive a result. (Reserved for more results)
20. No Effect (Recovered, saved, or etc.)

*If a result is rolled that is not applicable or has no effect, roll again. If the second result is also not applicable or has no effect, then no effect occurs (as if rolling a 20).

====================

Suggestions for 15-19 are welcome! (as well as any feedback!)
The reason I use a reflex save instead of a dex check, is that higher level characters are less likely to fumble than lower level characters. As well finesse based characters are less likely to fumble.

Nice, Foxman.

I made something similar myself, but the results weren't as good. That's why I asked.

I might use that, tacking a few of my own onto those 15-19 spots. Example: sunder attack against own weapon (you hit the floor, or your opponent's shield blocked you really well, etc)

Heh your welcome - mind you I avoided a few conditions....

15. one random opponent gets a free trip attempt against you...

16. Another one is you are forced to move 5' in a random direction (stumble) (might be hard to adjucticate - AoO? Does mobility count?

I don't like sunder personaly - a little too drastic of a conquence for my taste...

Well sunder doesn't destroy the weapon, just damages it. If they did well enough to destroy their own weapon they must've rolled very well after rolling very poorly.

Oh I see what you mean, damage not just destory

How about 1d6 Damage to 1 random piece of equipment:

weapon, shield, armour, helmet, cloak - etc. (use table for when you roll a 1 on a saving throw for damaging equipment)

my PCs are overpowered; I just make them attack themselves. "You stab yourself in the foot. Take 1d6 damage"
