| Boredom80109-24-05, 03:17 PM | Maybe this is a little reverse engineering, but I was perusing the DMG foe damage caps and it mentions that a divine spell (ie Clerics spells), when counting damage for spells, 1d8 takes the place for 2d6. So, it got me thinking if someone takes a God who offers the Healing domain, instead of (or in addition to) getting the usual +1 to caster level for spells from the Healing domain, maybe they could do 2d6+1/lvl, max of +5 for CLW. Now, I'm fair about it and I say that let's just not limit it to Healing spells. If someone takes a domain that offers a spell that does d8('s), you could trade them out for 2d6 per d8. So, basically it would make clerics a little more powerful, but I don't see a problem with that. I was thinking you could either do as outlined above, or you could just simply remove the level cap for all spells that someone has an affinity for, whether it's the two Domains that a cleric has, or the school of magic a Specialist wizard has chosen. As always, I'm open to suggestion and feedback, but try to keep it positive at least. |

OK, so I guess you could take that two ways. One way, you can say the Positive energies of the campaign are a little more powerful than the Negative energies, thus only the Healing domain and spells are affected with this uber bonus. The other way is to just leave them at the d8. |
