| vinni_corpse04-17-04, 03:10 AM | What do YOU think is the most interesting gestalt character, in terms of role playability? Most fun? Why? Why would that combination go together? (power gamers apply to Most Powerful Gestalt thread) I'm still working on mine, and its late, so i'm going to bed. I'll post mine later. |
| Riznar04-17-04, 03:17 AM | I really like Urban Ranger/Bard FE: My race +10, just so that I could get the skill bonuses and seduce people. :D A magicless version could be URng/Rog, but I like being flashy. |
| Michael Tree04-17-04, 05:44 AM | Wizard 20 | Rogue 3/Swashbuckler 3/Fighter 4/Duelist 10 Now that's flashy! or: Urban Ranger / Erudite The ultimate jack of all trades urban investigator. Oh, and take the Leadership feat for your Doctor companion who writes accounts of your cases in the Strand. :D or: Paladin / Telepath Righteous Thought-Police |
| DarkThoughts2404-17-04, 11:31 AM | the multipersonality disorder monk/barbarian. the soulcleaver (hate the term soulknife) ranger, the marshall fighter, and the swashbuckler bard. and anything/sorceror. |
| vinni_corpse04-17-04, 12:08 PM | WHY would these combinations be fun or interesting to roleplay? |
| Endarire04-17-04, 06:07 PM | Paladin/Bard "I'm a devout member of my order which requires my songs to be on key and my drunken brawling to be flashy." -EE |
| DM Zoc04-17-04, 06:41 PM | Paladin/Monk It should be obvious, but the whole "I need not a weapon to rid the world of evil" thing is really appealing. |
| strenoth04-17-04, 08:00 PM | to paladin/bard combo: to bad bards can't be lawful. ;-P :) |
| Wil_Hyral04-17-04, 08:27 PM | Monk/Barbarian is impossible due to alignment restrictions. Barbarians are either any chaotic or any non-lawful and monks are any lawful. |
| Baron Phylos04-17-04, 10:03 PM | Druid//Rogue/Assassin. Cute little forest animal wildshape + death attack. oh yeah. And who is going to believe the witnesses when they say "the squirrel did it!"? |

| DarkThoughts2404-17-04, 11:14 PM | Originally posted by Wil_Hyral Monk/Barbarian is impossible due to alignment restrictions. Barbarians are either any chaotic or any non-lawful and monks are any lawful. again multiple personalitymdisorder. one persona is a monk the other is a barbarian. they may not be allowed to use both class bonus at the same time but should still eb a fun level |
| Endarire04-18-04, 02:30 AM | Note the Paladin variants with chaotic alignments. -EE |
| LordPerrinOfNeomegaDotNet04-18-04, 07:28 AM | Barbarian/Sorcerer. Was cast out of his superstitious tribe when his magic was discovered. Possible self-hate issues; definately hates other magic-users, especially evil ones, whom he blames for magic getting a bad name with his tribe. I've actually been playing this exact character for some time as a multiclass; gonna petition my DM to let me convert him to Gestalt. |
| Aurotuli04-18-04, 03:00 PM | Bardic Sage / Cloistered Cleric: The TRUE Sage. |
| Princeoflowlight04-18-04, 10:13 PM | Marshal/Paladin would probably be fun. They just go together so well. |
| DarkThoughts2404-18-04, 10:28 PM | soulcleaver/expert. the shopkeep who has that extra special blade behind the counter |
| Lina_Inverse04-19-04, 12:39 AM | Originally posted by DarkThoughts24 soulcleaver/expert. the shopkeep who has that extra special blade behind the counter thats neat, though not really for pcs.a great suprise for the ones who think CN=CE but not evil though. druid/monk,i think is cool AND powerfull. paladin/bard is awesome *stabs people* just convince the dm to let you be a LG bard(or a CG paladin but i like my champions to be lawfull) ok ummm combo from me.sorcerer/wilder=i am inate power INCARNATE! Psion/Wizard-my mind is my power,my power is my mind. Cleric/Paladin-my faith is absolute! hmmmmmm Bard/anything:bards are fun,now the slightly weak nature dosent hurt as much. Cleric/Rogue:banned in 2e:angel: |
| flyingmoose04-19-04, 01:21 AM | Hexblade/Paladin of Slaughter. You really don't like people. Hey, did anyone else notice what happens when you omit the S in slaughter? |
| Nifft04-19-04, 10:43 AM | I've been thinking of making a campaign where everyone was a gestalt X/Monk (they would be the sole survivors of a monestary, and they'd be honor-bound to take it back in true Wuxia style). Alternately, a thieve's world type of adventure where everyone was a gestalt X/Rogue. -- N |
| Magnificate04-19-04, 02:03 PM | Rogue/Assasin//Soulknife - "Search him and take all his weapons" no longer becomes a problem for you. And I really like the thought-police idea, but i think that Enforcer (LN paladin variant with domination powers and Leadership, Dragon #310) would be better than LG Paladin for this one. Anarchist (CN paladin variant) / Marshall - the perfect riot raiser and labour union strike leader. Bard / Hexblade - "Why do people don't want to listen to me?" pop singer |
| stone_dog04-19-04, 02:14 PM | I like monk/cloistered cleric. Just helping the party out, answering questions, healing them up and normal clericy stuff. Keeping out of trouble but being an invaluable member of the team. Then he goes full blown into the kung fu beat down mode when the chips are down. Everybody stares at him. "What?" "How did you..." "Oh all that? Just some exercise routines we learned at the monastery. Interesting to find out that they have practical applications as well." "..." |

| riceisnice04-19-04, 08:11 PM | Monk/samurai. Of course maybe I'm only saying that 'cause I just watched Kill Bill 2. |

| Braids04-19-04, 09:57 PM | Ranger/Monk... (Or Druid/Monk without VoP) A Monk that opted to leave their monastery to in order to gain a better understanding of himself and the world he lives it...thus ultimately perfecting his mind as well as his body. [If he has VoP, he denounced material possessions to follow a more natural lifestyle.] Other Vows could add to this idea. It has roll-play value and gaming value...I may play the Ranger/Monk with VoP next chance I get...even though my friends don’t do much roll-playing. |

| Bard-of-all-trades04-20-04, 05:02 PM | I find a couple combinations very interesting and I think they would be cool to play. 1) Wild-shape Ranger variant/Wilderness Rogue - This would be THE outdoor assassin. Use the wild-shape ability to sneak in, gack them with a huge sneak attack, and fly away in the night. You could track them almost at will. And you'd have tons of skill points to round out your wild-shaped abilities (since you'd be smarter than the average bear). 2) Ranger/Feat Rogue - Again a kick-booty bounty hunter type with Favored Enemies, the best BAB, skill points coing out of you eyeballs, and feats, feats, feats. Yeah, you may loose the sneak attack, but you can more than make up for it with the focused attack feats and Ranger Weapon Masteries. You could even make it an Urban Ranger variant and make him the ultimate "Dark Knight". And the funny thing, the Ranger and Rogue are both listed as using Dexterity as their primary Ability Score in the Player's Handbook. |
| DarkThoughts2404-21-04, 07:14 AM | the fighter/marshall. an eilite verteran of battles in the past, leading his band into the fray bolsterign the group with his battle prowess and his own accumen with the sword |
| Bard-of-all-trades04-22-04, 04:07 PM | I just read the latest Dragon Magazine and saw a new feat that would make one combination very cool indeed ... King Fu Genius: it switches the prime requisite from Wisdom to Intelligence for all the Monks abilities. And thus, the Monk/Wizard gestalt would be truly frightening to behold. No need for armor or weapons. Spells galor can be used to pump up attack or defense. Very cool with this feat. |
| trapspringer04-23-04, 07:26 PM | lawful nuetral sneak attack fighter, standard rogue. "fighting is wrong, so why not fight to win?" |
| Romulus LoneWolf04-24-04, 12:10 PM | How about Monk/Rogue, for a well-rounded Ninja? |
| Lady Ishtar04-24-04, 12:41 PM | any ranger variant/soulknife: the ultimate headhunter soulknife/anything fighter type+kensai: create the ultimate mindblade! paladin/soulknife= cyberknight for all you RIFTS lovers out there |
| DarkThoughts2404-24-04, 12:50 PM | fighter/ paladin, a miracle worker on the field of battle |
