The Gestalt Character Variant has just given me a good idea to roleplay simultaneous multi-class character. It brought back the memory of the multi-classing in 2E. Th rule of Gestalt applies. Only the xp progression changes for mulitclass. If the standard xp progression is level*1000 then the simultaneous multi-class progression is level*2000. I have use excel to generate the xp progression. It seem workable to me. A 10 level simultaneous multiclass is roughly equilavent to a 14 level single class. A 15 level simultaneous multiclass is roughly equilavent to a 21 level single class. The problem comes when you use Prestige Class. There is several ways to solve the problem but the two below might be more probable: 1. Only single class progression character can have prestige class and do away prestige that has double class feature like Eldritch Knight, Arcane Trickster, Mystic Theurge since these classes are represented by the simultaneous multiclass. OR 2. Increase the potency and power of prestige class to suit the simultaneous multiclass nature and xp progression. Which mean create prestige class for simultaneous multiclass No.1 is easier. Having 2 xp progression, the co-existence of single and multi-class will work. I will rule that human with "dual class" use the standard progression not multicalss progression. (as in 2E) And only demi human can mulitclass and use multiclass xp progression. Also read Balancing Gestalt Character (page 75) for the reason why I say this is workable. "The simple answer --that gestalt characters are twice as powerful as standards character -- isn'accurate." Shawn
