Also, when multiclassing, can a gestalt take one "side" of her level in a class she didn't previously have, but the other "side" be one she does have, or would she have to pick to whole new classes? Example: I'm a 2nd lvl rogue/wizard. Once I gain enough XP to reach lvl three, can that lvl be fighter/wizard, making me functionally a ftr 1/rog 2/wiz 3, or would I be barred from adding wizard with fighter like this? Would this PC take an XP penalty for her functional wizard level being higher than her finctional fighter level? |

Though if you insist this is my recommendation. Treat both classes at each level as one combined class. For Example your character has 2 levels of rogue on one side and 2 levels of wizard on the other, so you have 2 levels of Rogue/Wizard. Then if at 3rd level you take fighter and wizard you are a 2 Rogue/Wizard, 1 Fighter/Wizard. On favored classes: Say you're an Elf, any combo class that possess wizard as one of the 2 classes is a favored class. Humans(and others with "Any" as a favored class) ignore their highest combo class. |

And really ... if you're playing Gestalt, already, chances are it's not gonna hurt much (and one of the beautiful things is you can do all sorts of crazy stuff, comboing over the place ... ) Oh yeah, as a wizard, look into something like spellsword, and on levels that don't give spellcasting progression take wizard ... it also works with other non-full-progression PrCs! :) |
