rbrt_Spade 07-06-05, 01:43 PM	these are my house rules im using in my upcoming game-post any thoughts /or rules to add 1- rules are as written 2-minis/battle grid will be used 3-any prc from any book -i must see it though! 4-all things must be converted to 3.5 with the conversion guide ( play 3.0) 5-pisonics is allowed 6- any race can be used from the monster manuals,players handbook,pisonics handbooks if it does not have a la of higher than +1- i must see though 7- pcs made up at l1 8- any class can be used from any book- i must see though 9-players can bring any book to the game and use any! 10-i will buy food/drink
Ilium 07-06-05, 02:24 PM	Technically you can't play a LA +1 race at 1st level (or more correctly, the LA character is considered to be 2nd level). So if you have, say, a 1st-level human rogue and a 1st-level bugbear roge, the bugbead is considered to be 2nd level (and have the appropriate XP, etc.). But other than that: Hey, you're buying the food? Can I be in your game? :D
srkingdavy 07-06-05, 02:38 PM	usually we all buy our own food and drinks... and of course we are all familiar with the munchkin card "bribe DM with food" :D (seriously though I woldn't give a player an advantage for giving me his pizza...) (*player rolls critical fumble* "hey you gonna finish that slice")
LambChopNYC 07-06-05, 06:50 PM	It is nice that you are open to players useing races/classes/prestiege classes out side of the three core rule books but if you don't open up the chance to classes from the complete series I think you are going to hear complaints later about "If I was a X at first level I would be so much better now I have to multiclass, boo hoohoo." I sugguest that players be allowed to play those other classes if they own copy of the book themselves. Than make sure they keep a photocopy with their character sheet and another copy wherever they play on a regular basis. Also decide if yoyu want to allow a "conversion" later to redesign PC from level 1 up when you/your players do get the extra books. Or if you will be firm with no convesions but allowed multiclassing.

braindead345 07-08-05, 12:44 AM	In case you missed my comment in your original thread: 10-i will buy food/drink Are you nuts? This can only lead to trouble for some obvious reasons. First off, players all have their own prefernces when it comes to food and drink. Also, do you know if your players have any food allergies or dietary restrictions? More importantly, do you want your players eating you out of house & home? You are better off using a "bring your own refreshments" rule and limiting them with a list of forbidden foods & drinks (think messy junk food, like Cheeto's, potato chips, and unshelled sunflower seeds). If you want to prepare some snacks, go ahead. Just don't think everybody will like what you make or that it will be enough to feed everybody. Alternatively, you can rotate snack detail amongst you & the other players; however, you might find that the person in charge of the snack one week will forget or not even show up-leaving the group hungry that week.
