| weasel fierce06-09-05, 02:25 AM | More like table rules, but sounds like fairly common sense stuff. |
| Dunelord06-09-05, 02:42 AM | Well if you might want to give a waring or two with the picking up a die. After all I know that I get disgusted with low rolls and want to get them out of my sight now and then so a player like that might be annoyed. "Well great I rolled a 4! I missed it by 1!" "No you missed it by 3 since I count that as rolling a one" "What the hell are you talking about?" "Hey no swearing!" As for the no swearing, why? |
| Steel Cobra06-09-05, 07:16 PM | hell isnt a sware well I think but I do give warnings for swaring but well I normally play w/ my parents in the house and they hate it. |
| Dunelord06-09-05, 07:40 PM | Well that makes sence the way you where talking it sounded like you just didn't want them swearing. |
| Steel Cobra06-10-05, 01:35 PM | Im fine w/ it its just a word and well any other suggestions? |
| elven warriorXX06-14-05, 12:23 AM | here is my rules you can see what i do and make you own :) House rules 1. I will level up you PC unless you want to level it up you self 2. There is no instant kill in this campaign because it is not fair to the PCs. But the “Coupe de grace” is allowed 3. evil alignment is not allowed as a PC alignment 4. there are no new races only the ones in the players handbook but if you want to run a new race ask me first. 5. you cant have more then 5 deferent classes. 6. in a town that has a guild you can join freely but you have to get in by the leaders rules (like you may have to slay a dragon in a dragon slayers guild)^^ 7. You HAVE to ask me before you take a Prestige Class and have the requirements for the class. Table rules 1. There is no rule on what you do that is up to you. You can do anything you can do in real life and some things you can’t so feel free to role-play. RP as you think your char could and don't worry about rolls, I will let you know if you need one. But after a bit of playing time you will know when to roll with out me telling you when to roll and you choose when you want to roll(like if you want to search for items) 2. No fighting with other players, if you have something to disagree about then wait till the game is over. 3. I am not out to get any one if you PC dies it is not my fault (unless you want me to kill you PC of for the story line or to take out a bad guy) 4. No bad words or sexual content, unless it is fine with the entire party OR if no one in the group is under 13. 5. tell me if you want your PC to kill him self with a bag guy(like jumping in to a pit for lava wale holding on to him) or to leave the game or go to ret 6. Tell me what you want out of sessions like more role-play, more combat, more jokes est. 7. if you get a new D&D book and want to use the stuff in it tell me and I will take a look 8. if you have an idea for a spell/class/feat/weapon/item please tell it to me and I will try to put it in the game if it is fair to other players |
| isuck06-22-05, 11:40 PM | I think the, if you die well too bad rule is a little harsh. I let my guys roll up new charachters. The Pick up a dice quick rule I think is kinda dumb too. :noway: |
| Sinaz06-25-05, 03:37 PM | My adventures almost always always always rely on sexual ambivelency. Simply because I don't want to have to roleplay flirting and relationships with my fellow (mostly guy) gamers... and I don't want to presume to be able to accurately roleplay the female side of the mating ritual. |
| pangalactic06-25-05, 04:45 PM | I use the dice rule myself - too much experience with players picking up rolls quickly to cover them up and hope I didn't see it. There's no reason not to leave them as they are until everybody who needs to (ie the DM and the player) have seen the result. |

Ok alot of this sounds pretty reasonable The dying thing you can actually control pretty well to keep most sane characters from dying but still giving them the illusion of mortal danger, Fudge a roll behind the screen like when you have a bad guy who just keeps rolling crits, they can't see its a crit, so just take it as a hit, no one but you has to know when your pulling a punch on them. If your talking about die rolls for character generation, add a control element, like using a points system for ability scores or if your players want a little more randomness give them some starting points and then have them roll for additional points, (limit how many times they are rolling to one) As far as the roll counting as one if they pick it up simply don't accept any roll you don't witness, or set up a roll box, so that when the character makes a roll its not right in front of him where he can quickly scoop it up to hide a bad roll, plus it also has the added bonus of keeping dice from flying off the table. just some idea's |
