Need help for gestalt CR [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-07-06, 03:49 PM I know UA gives CR suggestions for a group of like, three gestalt party members, I think.

What would you say for a solo campaign? Or two-person campaign?

05-07-06, 06:26 PM I single gestalt character could probably handle encounters with a CR equal to his level - 3.

For two gestalt PC's, use encounters with a CR equal to their level - 1.

05-08-06, 10:52 AM I am currently DMing a gestalt campaign, as well as playing in a gestalt campaign, both with two players. In both, the players seem to be handling challenge ratings equal to the character levels pretty well. The game I am DMing, the players are 5th level and I playtested the archer character against a Manticore (CR 5) just to see how powerful he was. He won single-handedly.

If the characters are pretty strong, even for gestalt, or if the campaign is a fairly tough one, then I would say that two people could comfortably handle CRs equal to their level and or slightly below.
