I was thinking of houseruleing to the following craft system: When Crafting anything: MAX with 8 hour day 2000g worth of progress (possibly 1000?) roll d20, add craft skill and Result would be (skill+d20)x100=progress for that day [max of course is 2000g] This is with all materials in a suitable place, (forge for weapon smith/armor smith, workshop for wonderous ect) When adventureing: Wonderous items / scrolls / potions require the masterwork sets to make them and could only max 500g worth of progress (skill+d20)x25 if they are doing the work while camped out. unless they stay for longer then 8 hours, who ever crafts an item while camped can only sleep for 4 hours (the other half of course devoted to createing the item Metal weapons and armors could not be made in the field but i would allow wooden weapons and armors to be made using the field rules. Now of course the articifer feat increases the max cap instead of reduceing time taken daily so it remains balanced I was thinking of being able to increase the cap at certian skill ranks (10 total ranks in a craft increases the max to 4000/1000 ect) that way the investment in the skill still remains valid Any thoughts on this system or your own? |
