new feat types. PLAESE POST YOUR IDEAS [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-13-05, 01:17 PM here are some new feat types that fit in to both of my campaign settings( on is high magic, the other is low magic.) and both feat ideas work well with my players :) post ideas for these feats or tell me what is bad about them if there is any. here is the laydown of these new feat types

Combat/martial arts
In the chapter called feats, there are 2 new types of feats. Feats with [COMBAT] on them are special moves you can use in combat like “back stab”. Feats with [MARTIAL ARTS] on them are special moves that you can use wile using only unarmed attacks. Each make a new type of fighter in any class, both require a feat to gain special moves in those areas, for [COMBAT] you need the combat master feat. for [MARTIAL ARTS] you need the martial artist feat.

so are you just making more combat feats with new types? :P

07-13-05, 01:50 PM i am making a type of feat that lets you do special stuff in combat. new special stuff that lets anyone use other classes abilities. (l.e a wizard with a rogues sneak attack) and for martial arts it is a type of special new fighting, so a fighter or other classe can do well with out a weapon. AND it looks cool when fist fighting a big bad guy :P

07-13-05, 10:08 PM In martial arts, fighting unarmed is a very last resort. You're better off picking up a stick off the ground and fighting with it than going unarmed. So that's a serious misnomer.

yes but i am trying to make it has good as any good weapon. some people are BETER at using Martial arts then using a long sword.

Namely Monks. But I would check out D20 modern on the SRD. The have some feats there (______ Martial Arts, Brawl, Knockout Punch...) .
