Sorcerer Variant: The Mountebank

The Mountebank is a huckster dedicated to trickery, one-upmanship, and generally getting his own way in nearly any situation. Whether he's peddling snake oil or talking a widow out of her inheritance, the Mountebank is not to be trusted.

Class Skills: Bluff(Cha), Concentration(Con), Dechiper Script(Int), Disguise(Cha), Escape Artist(Dex), Forgery(Int), Hide(Dex), Sense Motive(Wis), Sleight of Hand(Dex), Spellcraft(Int).

Skill Points: 4+Int

Saves: Good Reflex and Will

Special: Gains Sneak Attack as per a Rogue -2 levels. Example: A 5th level Mountebank would gain +2d6 sneak attack damage. Remove the Summon Familiar class ability.

Spellcasting: The Mountebank has fewer spells per day than a standard sorcerer. Subtract one spell per day from each spell level on Table 3-16: The Sorcerer, page 52 of the PHB. A Mountebank knows fewer spells per spell level than a standard sorcerer. Subtract one spell known from each spell level on Table 3-17, PHB, to a minimum of one spell per spell level. (as per Battle Sorcerer)

Gains:
7 class skills
2 skill points
1 good save
sneak attack(rogue -2)

Loses:
3 class skills
1 spell per day per spell level
1 spell known per spell level (this is where it really hurts)
Summon Familiar class ability

Sense motive is wisdom based. Otherwise, a pretty nice concept.

quick note: might want to incluse a hex-blade liek note abotu 1 spell/day -1 means a listing of zero spells, ie, you still get yoru bonus spells per day.

Yeah, you're right. I'll add that, thanks.
