Tiefling, but no Aasimar. Strange...

Is it something that was dropped from the book or never written up? If it was dropped, any chance of it getting posted as a web enhancement?

Thanks.

Shouldn't be too hard. Just give it the opposites for a tiefling and but the ability mod to charisma. I too thought it odd that it was left out....

Its like this... tieflings are wicked ultra-cool broody types that the kids can't get enough of because their own angst leaves them identifying with the awesome bad dude who has a demonic (devilish) parent.

On the other hand, there's the aasimar who're the result of an angelic parent... their pretty/handsome, loved and accepted, and generally pansy-fluff characters that are SO not cool.

That's my take on it, anyhow. You do the math and see if you can figure out why WotC wouldn't publish one of this pair of similar races. We apparently needed both a half-elf and half-orc paragon (when either race would have been just fine picking one side of their heritage and using the appropriate paragon class), but apparently not both an aasimar and tiefling.

Face it, WotC just doesn't believe that their target audience thinks aasimar are cool enough to rate an entry.

I didn't need racial paragon classes, period.

I'd mimic the tiefling except change skills, replace dexterity bonus with a charisma bonus, replace the darkness with daylight 3/day and apply the resistance and skill bonus abilities to the correct types for aasimars.

Just the reason that White Wolf had such a hit with Vampire... back then it brought a bunch of Gen X'ers who loved the angst becuase they identified with it to the world of RPGs, especially in colleges. All those new players. Good marketing.

Too bad their other maketing ploy, that the storyteller system got the system out of the way of the story so you could role play without hassel. Except that the system is not very consistant and well thought out. That's why I ran it under GURPS.

Not really... but then, RPGs are kind of a waste of time by nearly any definition :p
