| Machiel_WarriorofDarkness04-19-04, 03:33 AM | I'm wondering about how one would go about tweaking Monster DC's to effectively challenge Gestalt characers. Well made gestalted characters can easily beat the DC's that many regular Low-Epic Level characters would find difficult. My question is how to alter the DC's of monsters to counter this? |

For example, since the Medusa is 2 less CR in a gestalt campaign, the characters will face her 2 levels earlier, so their base good saves will be one point lower, and their bad save(s) (if any) may be a point lower as well. (Not to mention their spellcasters will be casting spells at one spell level lower, and the fighter types will have 2 less BAB... As long as the CR adjustments are made, gestalt campaigns are not easier than standard ones). EDIT: I just realized that, due to MAD (for some gestalt builds) and having less potent magical items against the same foes (again, because they are one or two levels lower), the saving throw values may be even lower. |
