Please explain the UA rule regarding removal of LAs. [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-15-06, 06:55 AM The way i read it, if your xp penalty is not enough to drop your level by 1, your xp total goes to the maximum of the level below yours, such that +1 xp will be sufficient to gain you the next level?

And how do you factor this in when making high level characters and removing LAs as such?

2. I haven't had that situation happen yet, but if a player wanted to make a character with an already-bought-off LA, I'd say the character would have to start the appropriate amount of XP below the rest of the party.
