Prestige Brd, Pal & Rgr; & Unique Spell Lists [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-28-04, 08:55 PM If using the prestige variations of the bard, paladin & ranger, what about the spells that only appear on their non-prestige spell lists?

Would it be fair to just add them to the base spellcasting class's spell list, or maybe increase the spell levels at which they appear? I.e., would it be fair for holy sword to be 4th lvl, or maybe bump it up to 5th lvl, for a prestige paladin?

(BTW, I tried using the search function for this query in the Spells & Magic Items sub-forum of the Player's Handbook, but the search kept timing out, so I figured I'd try it out here.)

But make sure you can't get them earlier than a normal paladin could.

I looked over the individual prestige class versions & didn't see anything. Hell, Spells per Day isn't even listed under the prestige ranger's Class Features. Got a page reference?

Maybe on page 71 under the sidebar "Unique Spells"? :confused:

07-03-04, 08:08 AM BTW, why are you that interested in what UA says about the matter? After all it is a book about variant rules. WotC won't send a crack rules-lawyer swat team trained by the navy seals after you if you introduce a house rule of your own. :cool:

07-03-04, 12:28 PM I'm not the DM of my group, so I can't just dictate new rules. I can, however, bring up potential house rules that I researched on the 'net, gathering others' opinions & experience on the matter.

So, since I couldn't find what looked like an omission from the prestige variants, I started this thread in this forum because I wanted to see what others thought would be fair.

It just turns out that I couldn't find a sidebar if my life depended on it. :embarrass
