Metatron777 12-15-05, 10:48 PM	In the Unearthed arcana book, I noticed the variant rule that could help lower the lvl. adjustment of a character.....From the looks of it all I need to do is just pay the xp points and I could lower a creature with a lvl adjustment of +11 to say +1 or o..... Now did I read the rule correctly? Is there a hidden catch in it that says i couldn't lower the lvl adjustment of a Hound Archon to zero? I know the book didn't exactly say that in plain veiw but that is the picture that it seems to be presenting (I really want to play a Hound Archon but that lvl adjustment is a real pain.....) I was just wondering cuz this variant rule really caught my eye.....
Tyler Do'Urden 12-16-05, 02:14 AM	You didn't read it at all, did you? Here, read it through. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingLevelAdjustments.htm) You would have to be 33rd level before you could reduce a +11 level adjustment (and 330th level before you could get it down to +1).
darkwarrior42 12-16-05, 02:24 AM	As written, the system lets you reduce your level adjustment, but only when your character level equals 3 times your level adjustment. You can at that point reduce your level adjustment by 1. To reduce it again, you have to gain a number of levels equal to your new level adjustment X 3. Thus, if your level adjustment were +3, you could reduce it to +2 at level 9, gain another 6 levels to reduce it to 1, then another 3 to eliminate it. This happens at level 18. For a Hound Archon with a level adjustment of +12, the first time you can reduce that level adjustment is at level 36. For the record, you'd need to be level 234 before you could completely get rid of this level adjustment.
