"Each time a character casts a spell for which he does not have sufficient spell points and subsequently fails the Concentration check, he takes both lethal and nonlethal damage equal to the level of the spell cast."

What happens if the Conc. check is successful, no damage at all? In this case you could cast a nearly unlimited amount of spells with high concentration scores.

I found the same problem. For my campaign, pending aproval by my players, I have decided that with a successful Concentration check you still take non-lethal (ie. subdual) damge.
