I'm building a gestalt character. A Githzerai half-shadow dragon monk 5. Since The Gith has a level adjustement of +2 and the half-dragon +3 (for a grand total of 5), can that be its other « class »?

Also, at level 6, I want to continu gaining levels in monk and gain my first level of fighter. Since we choose the best of the two classes when it comes to saves (and alot of stuff), will my character gain a +2 on its Fort save, instead of just +1 from the monk?

And finaly, a gestalt duskblade/wizard, is he able to cast is wizard spells in armor? It makes sense, if you consider that you fuse two classes to make one. Thus they share all of there powers.

Thank you for the anwsers :)

The technical rule is "no" because they're level adjustments, not class levels.

But I'd run it by your DM. I always treat LA as class levels for gestalt.

I believe that whenever you start a new class you always gain the +2. Gestalt typically leads to higher saves, thats why CR is reduced for enemies relying on save or dies.

I dont' think you could cast your wizard spells without ASF unless duskblade specifically states you can ignore ASF from other classes as well. For instance, a bard can cast bard spells in light armor, but a bard/wizard can't cast wizard spells in light armor. And it specifically states this in the description.

1) no official answer. I treat LA as racial-class levels basically, others force you to tack on the LA adjusted to gestalt levels (so yoru sample character would be ECL 10, with 5 levels of gestalted monk//what ever) which I think is bad beause LA is already often overpriced, others cut LA in half and tack it on top of Gestalt Levels (so yoru character woudl be ECl 7 or 8 in such a game)

2) No, because you choose the best PROGRESSION, not the best save of that level, so at level 6, fighter just continues yoru already Good Fort Save progression.

3) sorry, but the duskblade armor casting ability specifically states that it applies only to your duskblade spells. OTOH, Arcane Channeling does NOT specify duskblade spells, and the sage has officially confirmed it: even clericla spells can be cast through Arcane Channeling. I'll let you ponder the potential there.

Oh, and if going gestalt duskblade/wizard, and want to basically use wizard to support you gish style (fighter-caster), you can take a 1-level hit toyoru casting progression and grab a level of monk at 1st level, +1 feat to make all monk abilities (including AC) run off of INT instead of WIS (Carmadine monk is the FR version, and there's a dragon magazine version some where too). At level 7, prestige out Wizard to Abjurant Champion (complete Mage), and you very quickly actually have a decent AC unarmored, using your enhanced Shield spell you can cast as a quick action.

Slightly ninja'd by evil, but we don't agree on the second point.
