| theotherdraxen10-21-06, 01:38 PM | In Heroes of Battle the Rally check was introduced. It allows a character to rally against fear (pg 73-75). I was wondering if there was some way to allow a character to rally against mind-compulsion effects. How would it work? Fear has three stages: shaken, frightened, and panicked. But mind compulsion has a variety of different effects. I don't want to rip out the mechanics of mind compulsion, and since they come in the form of spells, maybe the DC could be based on the spell level? DC 20 for spell levels 1-3 DC 25 for spell levels 4-6 DC 30 for spell levels 7-9 I do intend to balance this: a character who intends to rally against fear uses his commander rating. A character who intends to rally against mind compulsion uses something else (I need help here too:( ). In my specific circumstance, I have a Paladin with Aura of Courage performing rally checks against fear, and another Paladin with Aura of Resolve (immunity to mind compulsion and allies within 10 ft get +4 bonus against them) performing rally checks against mind compulsion. |
