| Mist of Shadows02-16-06, 01:14 AM | Just like the title says. I need some help with suggestions on arcane strike and recharge magic. Where when you burn spells they come back quickly, I'm curious how to deal with it without making the feat useless. If I can toss fireballs all day with a few rounds in the middle I'm not sure I would take the feat if I couldn't use it. But it does make it more powerful if it comes back sooner then later. Your thoughts or offical rulings? |
| Darkmatter2002-16-06, 02:55 AM | Personnally I would have no problem leaving it has it is. Since they have to wait for each spell level to recharge they cannot use a number of level 1 spells to boost up the arcane strike. In order to further in increase the arcane strike they would have to use multiple levels of spells each of which can only be used once before needing to be recharged. The only change that I would use is to make sure that the arcane strike can only work of the general recharge spells and not the specific recharge spells and you're good. This is not really a change since there are no rules for arcane strike and recharge magic. Personnally while arcane strike is a very cool feat the used spell level could be used for far more powerful ( not simply direct damage dealing ) spells. And also recharge magic rules. How are you finding it. All in all I would no problem using arcane strike and recharge magic together. |

From the actual sorcerer of the party he didn't have any problems with it. Was sort of happy that he got more spells to cast. From a dm point of view I don't really mind it. The only slight issue I have is that the party often gets healed to near full or full hp between fights. On the upside I get to toss stronger monsters at the party. I like it because I can just take a list and worry less about how many to take of the spells. I think it evens out the fighter's ability to fight all day long. Always annoyed me that the wizard cast his few spells for the day in the fight and then was done. So it's going well I have one player that is just about to take arcane strike so it's going well. |
| Darkmatter2002-17-06, 04:50 AM | The guy whoses complaining is a fighter or some non-caster right? Problem here is not that his class doesn't have spells but that the other players with spells are not casting any buffing or polymorph spells on the fighter. Remind them its a team game and they should work together. A wizard is protected by the fighter at low levels, at high levels if the wizard is not helping the fighter simply because he doesn't need to anymore then thats a just a "tad" mean of him. |

| Mist of Shadows02-17-06, 04:04 PM | Nah the sorc was still casting buffs, the other guy didn't really like that the sorcerer could keep up in multible combats and such, and just pointed out that it felt wierd having the spell casters have to wait. Rather then be able to just burn through all of their spells helping all at once. Same guy that complained when the party wizards/sorcs said we have to stop for the day (in the other system) I try to just ignore a large amount of the whinning. |

So hes whining that when using the recharge varient he has to wait for their spells to recharge and hes whining that when not using a recharge varient he has to rest so they can get their spells back? I think hes just whining. Or has caster envy :) (joking) |
