How would these work together? Would you treat epic spells as your highest spell level (so 1d6+1 or 1d4+1 rounds), would they have their own recharge time (say, 1d8 rounds or something) or would they be unrechargeable?

Personally, I think unrechargeable. They have their own constraint (based on your ranks in the appropriate skill).

I think you still go by spell level. This would make getting level 10 and higher spell level even more valuable.

Anyone else have any ideas on the topic?

Oh for the love of darkness don't make the epic spells rechargeable.

They aren't ment to be rechargeable, even more than the others.

The 10th and 11th level spell slots would be though.

I completely agree with that.

Spell slots gained via "Improved Spellcasting Capacity" (read, levle 10, 11, ...) would recharge as per the normal rules relating to highest, second highest, etc. spell level.

Epic spell slots, however would not recharge. Or if you want to say so, they would have a normal fixed "24h recharge time". You would have epic slots equal to the number you'd normally have according to the epic rules, and you would refresh them once a day.
