| SKid402-24-05, 11:48 AM | I can think of two ways to set up recharge psionics. The first method is the most intuitive--simply recharge power points directly--however, this also appears to be the least popular method. The second method I just thought of recently, and it's more similar to recharge magic. To recharge power points directly, I'd roll 1d4+1 after manifesting (like a sorcerer). The result is the number of rounds it takes to recharge a number of power points equal to your manifester level. Like I said before, this is the most obvious but least desirable method. On the other hand, you could toss out the idea of power points per day like recharge magic tosses out the idea of spells per day. As with recharge magic, you would lose access to a specific power level after manifesting a power. I'd follow the sorcerer's recharge times. Using this method, as power points do not exist anymore, I would allow free augmentation. That is to say that all powers are manifested with a number of "power points" equal to your manifester level. You'd have the option of not maxing this out even though you no longer have to worry about power point costs. And because casters have 10 levels of spells, you might consider letting two, and only two, 1st-level powers be used consecutively, each with its own recharge time. There would be no specific recharge times. Hope this helps. |

This could also be combined with the Spell Point system, but I primarily thought it up for the pure psionics campaign that I am creating. Anyway, you still get a Power Points per Day table, but that is there merely to make sure that you cannot use infinite powers in small periods of time. Now, though, you recharge power points at the rate of half your total manifester levels per round rounded down. If you are level one, however, you recharge one point every other round starting one full round after you last manifest. This allows a psion to manifest several powers at once, but he would have to wait awhile to recharge. What do you think? |
