| Sydney Losstarot06-18-04, 06:11 PM | Unearthed Arcana, pg. 158: "First, pay 10% of the item's base price (not including any costly material components or XP costs) as an up-front cost. This expense reflects the fact that recharging a charged item is more costly than simply constructing a new one. 4 paragraphs later... "It's faster and (usually) cheaper to recharge a charged item than to craft or buy a new one." Uhm...say again? :uh-huh: |
| Kaya Kenobi06-18-04, 11:50 PM | Instead of it taking days to construct a new one, it might take a matter of minutes to recharge... I don't get those paragraphs either. |
| Sydney Losstarot06-18-04, 11:51 PM | I think WotC must've been between proofreaders when this was sent to the presses... |
| Kaya Kenobi06-19-04, 02:15 AM | Seems very likely, after all WotC is known to have errors in every book, and a few quite glaring like this one here. |
| Slippery Mind II06-19-04, 11:22 AM | I think what they might be getting at is that each individual charge will be more expensive to recharge then to make a new item. As an example, each charge of a cure light wounds want is worth 15 gp, but to recharge, each one would cost more than 15 gp but less than the 750 to get a new wand (of course, I am talking about the market value.) |
