The problem is what happens if the whole party has LA, and all elect to pay it back. Am I missing something here? -Tiera, mildly confounded. |
| Kastas03-17-04, 11:37 PM | If everyone in the party has a LA, it should be fine if they all elect to buy off some of it. You should balance encounters and assign experience as if they were still their original ECL, since their actual power level hasn't changed at all. They will all lose some experience, but it will be worth it for them in the long run because they will require less experience to reach high levels. |
| Greyman03-18-04, 12:38 AM | What's the problem? If everyone reduces there LA at the same time, there is no one to catch up to. But everyone will still be earning slightly more XP from the same CR of encounters they were facing before doing so, because the average party level, and their individual character levels, have both been reduced by the process. They will also be aiming at less XP difference between class levels. |
