What are the specific differenced between the rogue and wilderness rogue? From what I get searching the boards, the wilderness rogue gets some of the ranger abilities added to the rogue's list of special ability choices. There is nothing specific. Can anyone give me a break down of the differences? What skill set does the wilderness rogue have? Do they get Knowledge (Nature) or Survival? What skills do they sacrifice?

My DM issued me a goliath (Races of Stone) rogue for his new campaign. He has offered any rogue variants for the class and I want to get the details of the wilderness rogue to see if it would be more applicable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay here are the skill changes:

You gain the following skills:
-Handle Animal
-Knowledge (Geography)
-Knowledge (Nature)
-Ride
-Survival

You lose the following skills:
-Appraise
-Diplomacy
-Decipher Script
-Forgery
-Gather Information

Now for my next question that I will likely have to answer myself:

7th level you gain woodland stride (as the ranger special ability)
13th level you get camouflage (as the ranger special ability)
17th level you get hide in plain sight (as the ranger special ability)

What specifically do you lose for these abilities? I assume you lost the regular rogues special abilities that they gain at 10th level. Can someone clarify and confirm?

NO
They are just added to the special abilities a 10th level ot higher rogue may choose amoung. (hide in plain sight requires camouflage)
So he doesn't give up any abilities, just adds 3 more to choose from.
