| Fullmetal_Alchemist11-06-06, 11:23 AM | Hello. I have been making a campaign world for a long time and I was wondering, what is the good and bad things within the Sanity System with int Unearth Arcana book? So far, I don't like how the Magic system works where you cast a spell and your sanity points are taken away. I decided to take that rule out. Anyone else want to say anything good and/or bad about the Sanity System? |

I'm not really looking much for a Taint system. The only problem I see is that Sanity comes out bad if you use to much. Like you make people loss Sanity points for everything they do, see, or hear. Basicly, I want to go around and take some stuff out of the Sanity system within the Unearthed Arcana system. It is cool and all, but it has alot of flaws and if you use it to much, you will get the characters insane to much and the game gets boring and stupid. Is the system in 'Heroes of Horror' any good? |

Yes the system in HoH is very good (much better than UA). Its very detailed with many options. You should have no trouble managing the accumulation of Depravity and/or Corruption with it. |

Becuase I'm making a Human Sorcerer that has Dracophobia; fearing dragons. He had to live with a Blue Dragon, which is the dragon from where he got his arcane abilites at. |
| User512711-16-06, 12:12 AM | depravity is the sanity part and corruption is the physcal part... so yea. and iirc it does deal with phobias and what not |
| CryoSilver11-16-06, 04:55 PM | HoH does not deal with mental disorders. Personally, I use a modified version of Call of Cthulu's Sanity system (which may or may not be like UAs; don't have UA). |

Actually it does. CoC's sanity rules were altered for the UA, and then altered again for HoH. Taint and Sanity were rolled together into one mechanic for HoH, with taint divided into corruption (physical manifestations of taint) and depravity (mental manifestations of taint). Depravity can result in all manner of mental disorders (that's precisely what happens when your depravity score increases). -Peace- |
| CryoSilver11-16-06, 08:33 PM | I like the mental disorders in my games to be slightly more specific than HoH deals with them. |
| User512711-16-06, 10:30 PM | well then just expand the list for corruption and depravity to give more physical and mental disorders... |
