| kgiggles03-06-04, 04:12 AM | I like it. I figure if it fits into the campaign world go with it. Plus it can really be a great idea generator for the DM. In my campaign I would not allow a character to just pick this class cause he`s got a Legendary weapon and meets the prerequsites. Instead the character would slowly learn the history of the sword through research, adventuring, etc. When the character meets all the requirements and gains a thorough understanding of his weapon then and only then can he choose the class. As a DM you can have a lot of fun with this one. |
| Realmsman03-06-04, 05:30 AM | I like the idea, but I wouldn't use it...it doesn't fit into my homebrew world. I agree that I would have the PC slowly figure it all out though, because that would add more flavor to the game and be a better justification for him to take the class. |

| Snow Savant03-06-04, 03:12 PM | I am not a fan of the Faith Scion at all. Being able to have a +5 weapon as a featured class ability at 20th level is a waste ... especially since GMW grants you that exact same bonus for no cost whatsoever. In general, the mechanics of the Scions abilities seem a bit weak, especially in campaigns where you can buy or craft magic weapons of comparable or better performance. On the whole though, the concept is interesting and has potential for flavour. XO, Snow :cloud9: |
| Xeviat-DM03-06-04, 03:20 PM | Funny thing. Do a quick eyeball of the actuall classes. The amount of benefit the class itself gives is about even with the core class it emulates. Really, the Spell Scion seems better than the core wizard in every way. I'm definately using the Scions in my campaign. I already have 9 legendary weapons designed in my world that will be perfect for this. I even have a campaign idea that I've had in mind for quite some time in which all four players become scions and wield a different weapon. I just wish they would have done something to help us to create our own legendary weapons. Oh well. |
