| ShinoAburame08-01-07, 02:06 AM | Tell me what you think. This is to try and give the underpowerd classes a bit of umph! Rogue: At 1st level the rogue can apply poison to weapons without the 5% risk of poisoning one's self. At 6th level can apply an extra die to damage done by weapons, natural, or unarmed attacks. For example, a greatsword normaly deals 2d6 damage right? Well now it deals 3d6 damage! Spelltheif: Permanently learns spells and psychic powers he stole. Can use these spells/powers as a spell-like ability a number of times per day equal to spelltheif level. If a psionic power, can manifest the power at maximum augmentation! Bard: Can make peform checks inplace of attack rolls. Ranger: All good saving throws. Apply favored enemy bonus to AC (when in combat with that specific enemy type), grapple, and bull-rush checks. Fighter: Add +1 to all damage rolls with normal attacks (IE: non-magical attacks) for every fighter level. (So you'll do +20 damage at 20th level!) Psychic Rogue: Gains a bonus feat at any even level of the player's choosing. Soulknife: All good saving throws, Full BaB. New abilities that can be transformed from any of the other mindforms as a free-action! Mindshield: At 5th level the mindblade can be turned into a mindshield which emulates a wooden sheild. Greater Mindshield: At 8th level the mindshield can now emulate a tower-shield. Mindbow: At 9th level you can make a mindbow which emulates a longbow. Damage and attack modifiers that apply to mindblades apply to mindbow. Barbarian: Now makes fortitude save of 11, if succeeds, does not become fatigue after rage. Damage reduction is doubled. Monk: Full BaB. Wilder: Profficietcy with one martial weapon. Good fort/ref saves, poor will save. At 9th level gains greater elude touch which grants +4 instead of +2 AC. At 20th level gains advanced elude touch which grants +6 instead of +4 AC. |
| Tequila_Sunrise08-01-07, 02:49 AM | Honestly a couple of these are okay, but most are too good or unneeded. I'll just make a comment about your most glaring rule: Spelltheif: Permanently learns spells and psychic powers he stole. Can use these spells/powers as a spell-like ability a number of times per day equal to spelltheif level. If a psionic power, can manifest the power at maximum augmentation! This rule just maginifies the problem with the spellthief: they suck at low levels where you can go an entire adventure without running into magic, but they rock at high levels where every NPC, monster and its mother has magic. Your rule does nothing to change the low level suckage, while basically turning the spellthief into a wizard at high levels. If you really want to fix the spellthief, make it a PrC as it should have been to begin with. |
| Disciple_of_Salsa08-01-07, 04:17 AM | No. Broken Broken Broken. A couple are okay, but most of them are unnecessary. |
| Rustmonster08-01-07, 11:57 AM | Monk: Full BaB. I too was once in the dark as to why monks have cleric BAB. But I have seen the light. At level 20. Flurry of blows. 6 times. 5 more attack bonus for each attack. Average damage of 11 plus modifiers. Let's say he has a +5 to Strength. If he hits with all six blows, he does 96 damage. |
| trapspringer08-01-07, 06:15 PM | Rogue: 'K, but these guys aren't really all that under-powered and they sure as hell don't need that second ability you listed. The first one is pretty good, the second one is too powerful. TWF, a feat tree these guys already take, has way too much synergy with double damage on weapons. Spelltheif: As already pointed out by Tequila_Sunrise, this doesn't fix the problem. Bard: Wha? Why? This is so utterly abusable it's ridiculous. A level one character with +13 to hit doesn't sound at all reasonable. Ranger: Actually, that's not bad. Favored enemy is a fairly weak ability that limits combat options, and your variant fixed a lot of that without upping the power curve over-much. Good goin'. Fighter: It's flat. It's boring. It has no ring, no fire, no nothing! Bzz! Bzz-ZZ! Seriously, though, you've taken a boring class and given it a boring ability that will barely show up on the radar compared to his damage output. On top of that, it powers up TWF without giving anything to anyone else. Psychic Rogue: I don't think this class needs a power-bump. If the only thing missing is a stray bonus feat, don't bother. Use flaws. Soulknife: No comment. The precedent for feats that reshape mind blades is well established. Such abilities should be feats, because they aren't powerful enough to be class features. Barbarian: Not bad. Workable. Up the fort save to 15, though. It's a more round number in this system. Monk: Nope. Again, why would I play a fighter? Wilder: Full casters don't need more power. |

| TiwazTyrsfist08-01-07, 09:31 PM | I'm Fairly certain this is a joke. Either that, or you need to be sharing your chemical enhancements. That anyone responded to this as if it were serious is a little sad. |
| The_Hedgewizard08-01-07, 11:44 PM | I too was once in the dark as to why monks have cleric BAB. But I have seen the light. It's not really that big of a deal if you just remove the second extra attack granted by flurry of blows, or alternatively, apply the penalties to each attack on it. Also, judging a class by what they can do at level 20 isn't really they best way to go about balancing things. 6 attacks is pretty nice, but the monk would probably still get his arse kicked by any full caster at that level anyway. A raging barbarian would also likely have higher strength and a more damaging weapon in order to deal out similar, or likely better, damage too and a ranger can get 6 attacks via TWF. In general though, I agree with others on these abilities, except for the ranger maybe, they are way too strong. |
| ShinoAburame08-02-07, 02:09 AM | Psychic Rogue: I don't think this class needs a power-bump. It definitely doesn't need everything a fighter's got plus everything it's already got. Why would you play a fighter instead of your variant of this class? I think you misunderstand, I said one bonus feat at any even level of the player's choice. But thanks for replying anyway. :) |
