| Dreaddisease05-27-04, 03:36 AM | Just a question I posted in another forum. Sorry if this has already been covered before but we are trying to figure out the calculations made to the spell point system. We use the system where the sum of (number of spells times the spell level), double that and minus the total spells should equal the # of spell points. Well it doesn't. So is there something I'm missing? I.e. 5th level wizard with 16 Int has 4,3 and 2 spells of 1st,2nd and 3rd level respectively. This comes out to 4+6+6 = 16 multiply by 2 = 32 and minus total spells (9) = 23. The book states 25. Also we have a 6th level cleric with 16 wis and our spell points come to 31 and the book states 33. Is there a reason there are 2 more spell points? Also is there a way to do spell points on zero level spells? |

| Dreaddisease05-29-04, 07:59 PM | There are a lot of zero level spells that can be abused with no limit. Right now our party is just using zero level spells as is, but I am contemplating a few uses considering that only being able to cast 5 of these cantrips is weak. |
| Slippery Mind II05-31-04, 02:44 PM | 0 level spells do have a limit. It is 3 plus the original ammount of 0 level spells (i.e. a wizard would get to cast 6 0 level spells a day.) In my campaign I have changed this to 3 plus 1 per two levels since 0 level spells are definitely not game breakers. It seems to work nicely. |
