This helps with the UA system's problem where a mage's highest-level spells costed almost the same (why use an 8th level spell, when your 9th level spell costs only 2 more points out of your 150++?) Casters following the table below have a pool of spell points equal to: Spellcasting Ability Modifier * 10 Plus 10 for every four levels; So a level 8 wizard with 20 intelligence has: 5*10 + 20 = 70 spell points Here it goes. http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/4866/spellpointswn8.jpg I've been examining it for some time, and putting down formulas to see how many of his highest-level spells can a typical wizard cast per day, but I can't decide if it's too harsh or too lenient. So, what do you think? PS Don't mind the 0 cost for 0-level spells; I've done away with Cure Minor Wounds and Cause Minor Wounds already. They are silly spells anyway. |

The idea of spells costing less as the caster levels up has been discussed there too, and there's been a lot of math and tables been thrown around in that thread. ;) Also, imho that o cost for 0th level spells was not a problem. Considering that it occured at level 19, "unlimited" healing wouldn't be a problem for me. Considering that the cleric or druid could heal at most 10HPs/minute, it hardly seems overpowered. |
