The wizard also has bonus feats over the Sorcerer. Another quick comparison. Mindscapes Psion vs. Sorcerer. I really had no point to this post other than that. Seeing the spontanious divine caster variant has vindicated my campaign sorcerer changes. Oh well. |

Not only is everything in this book optional, but half of it contradicts itself so you can only use so many of the rules before they begin to overlap (recharge magic and spell points come to mind). This book can't in any way be taken as staple opinion by game makers, so much as "If you feel this way, here's a suggestion on how to change these." |
| Myztek02-19-04, 06:59 PM | There are multiple differences between the spontaneous divine casters vs normal divine spellcasters and the sorcerer vs the wizard. Different spells known, different secondary abilities (armor, turning, etc ...) and different spell lists - eith each of those having a drastically different effect on the comparrison. Further, a wizard goes from a spellbook with between 5 and 18 first level spells in it to having a maximum of 5 spells of 1st level as a sorcerer. A divine caster goes from a selection of dozens (perhaps hundreds in some campaigns) of first level spells to 6 or 7 known 1st level spells at maximum. You can't line up the points and compare the two sets of classes. They have one similarity, but they have far too many differences. |
