I'm toying with doing it like this... 20 - base 19-20 - either Imp Crit OR Keen Enh 17-20 - BOTH Imp Crit and Keen Enh 19-20 - base 17-20 - either Imp Crit OR Keen Enh 15-20 - BOTH Imp Crit and Keen Enh 18-20 - base 15-20 - either Imp Crit OR Keen Enh 12-20 - BOTH Imp Crit and Keen Enh I'm not worried about power-level so much, as it's probably at least a 10th level character, or better, who has access to both Imp Crit and a Keen weapon. What does concern me is that if I do this, then the monsters will crit more often as well, which is bad for the PC's. |

This doesn't have all that much effect on the above example, but when the PCs get abilities like Ki Critical the threat range would reach ridiculous heights. Oh and before someone mentions it: I know that Ki Critical adds +2 to threat range if the character already has Improved Critical, but the house rule does end the confusion concerning stacking it with Keen. |
