| The Cosmic Goose03-18-04, 11:11 PM | Im thinking about running a Oriental Adventure game using the SP system, and i need the Formulia they used to figure out how much SP each class gets per level. Also, and this is more of a general question, the SP system does make all of the casters more powerful, does this disturb the balance between the magic classes and non-magics? |
| JarlofAr03-19-04, 03:50 AM | ....the Formulia they used to figure out how much SP each class gets per level Basically the number of base spell points a wizard has at each level is approximately equal to the (value of the spell level in spell points) multiplied by (the total number of each spell of that level) minus (1 point per level past the first that the wizard can cast). The Sorcerer has the same, plus extra spellpoints equal to the spell point value of the highest level spell he can cast. Hopefully that won't be clear enough if you don't have UA, but you should be able to figure it out with the book in front of you. Also, try an excel spreadsheet :) (The plural of 'formula' is 'formulae', by the way.) |

Wow that made no sense. so, just to test my understanding. for the wizard/cleric/druid they gain a number of spell points for each spell slot you would normaly get equile to the point cost to cast the spell. minus 1 per each spell slot. and sorcerers get a bonus number of spell points equile to the highest level spell they can cast at that level. (basicly an extra high level spell each level) so, is this formula accurate for all of the spelllcasting classes? oh, and i also own UA, so dont worry about me trying to potch the game info =) |
