I've been considering running a campaign that heavily deals in Taint, and/or several variants of it, and I'm looking for some suggestions. In my campaign, I'd like to have Taint as something like a never-ending curse ... people who achieve a high enough score become effectively immortal. They age, and can be "killed" as normal, but simply re-animate, weakened but alive, after anywhere from a few days to a few hours, depending on the severity of the Taint. The only true way to destroy such an immortal is by very powerful magics and such, or by the touch of an equally powerful (in other words, equally Tainted) immortal.
I'm also considering adding different types of taint, perhaps one for each alignment on the good/evil axis, in which case I'd most likely have to change the ability scores penalized and such ...
It should be noted that I don't mind working hard on building worlds and variants and such, so don't bother holding back on suggestions and such because of difficulty involved. Also, my campaign is probably going to be more modern and medium to high magic. Anywho, thanks in advance!
