| RobbyPants10-13-06, 11:44 AM | Typically, in 3.x, called shots are a no-no. I've often thought of modifying the system myself, even to the extent of giving different body parts seperate hp totals. Turned out to be a big headache! Anyway, if you're interested in an existing system, check out the 2E PO Combat & Tactics. They have rules in there for specific crit effects, and part of those rules is random body part targeting. A brief rundown for a typical humanoid (it's different per body type) is roll d10: 1-2 = left leg 3-4 = right leg 5 = abdomen 6-7 = torso 8 = left arm 9 = right arm 10 = head Also, a creature two sizes smaller rolls 1d6 (won't hit arms or head), and a creature two sizes larger rolls 1d6+4 (won't hit legs). Also, in the Skill & Feats section, someone came up with an interesting called shot feat. It's like power attack for ranged weapons. You subract from your attack roll to add to your damage. It only works on creatures vulnerable to critical hits. Hope these suggestions helped. ;) |

| RocketMasterScan10-19-06, 06:15 PM | I attempted to make rules which I posted I few pages ago, but I guess it was too long no one felt like reading... Anyway it's under the name 'Targeting Specific Body Parts?' ... here's the link, http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=712878 . |
