Title pretty much explains it all. In your opinion, is UA worth the price or not? Also, could you maybe give a summary of what it has to help me decide myself?

Yes. I think their are to many good solutions to common problems in this book to pass it over. It is a book that makes all sort of fun ideas official, and adds depth to charater creation, options to campaign styles, as well as a very cool alternative experience system which has a static experience gained per challenge rating. There are many more cool things here, but those are some of my favorites.

If you want a book full of houserules that tells you how to play your game, then by all means go for it. I only got the book because I paid 10.00 for it.

Remember this:

A lot of the stuff is unbalancing, some totally broken in normal campaigns, and others that just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.. Read the threads here and you'll understand what I mean.

I'd say buy it. What's good about it? Well I for one would not even think to use most of the stuff but some of the things I would use makes it all that more worth buying it. For instance:
Generic Classes
Racial Paragon
Buying off ecl
Taint system
Insanity system

I bought this book hoping tha more of it would actually be useful to me...

Sadly enough, I've found few of the rules within it to be to my liking and I'm seeking a buyer for my used - but still in mint condition - copy at the fair price of $25.00.

I guess someone didn't get the memo that everything in Unearthed Arcana is optional.

They don't tell you that you have to use anything, and none of this is meant for use in a normal campaign. Used improperly, many of the rules could unbalance, but using variants wisely is the DMs job anyways. There is no way you could expect WotC to make sure every rule is balanced for every campaign.

Besides, WotC makes the distinction between houserules and variants very clear. :)

In my opinion, it is very much worth the price. There are more good and interesting ideas in this one book than what you would see in a dozen other d20 books.

I do know that the book is optional, but that doesn't matter. It's a book of houserules WotC people used. Some of it is broken, some of it just doesn't make any sense, and others are ok.. And almost all of it is ripped from several different books that comes from other d20 books.

I've found it to be a great supplement. Some of the rules such as Armor as Damage Conversion have added new dimensions to the game that I've been searching for a way to implement for a long time.

I'd definitely recommend buying it.

I really enjoy the book and give it a score of 8 out of 10.

I like the optional rules because I like variance. It makes D&D d20 much more free form in a lot of ways.

All in all I would definitely buy this book.

Definately worth the price...I use almost none of the variants presented in the book; however, if you are motivated to alter the mechanics of your game in order to provide a deeper story or just an alternate experiance, you can use Unearthed Arcana for a great view of how to alter the rules without completely changing the game. Woo...can you say run on...
