Just a quick question one of players has before we start my OA game with Gestalt characters. I've added the three classes from the Book of Nine Swords to my game and one of my friends was thinking of playing a Crusader//Swordsage. The question he had (and I couldn't answer because I wasn't positive) was this: Can you use two different stances at once with a Gestalt character?

Personally, I don't think it's possible unless you have the Warblade 20th level ability, but I wanted to make sure. He's just afraid of having a ton of stances, but having most of them go to waste.

Look at it this way. Can a Wizard/Cleric gesalt cast two spells a turn? No. Also could a Warblade1/Swordsage3 in a regular game use two stances at once? No. There is no difference between a multiclasses character and a gesalt character in relation to what it can and can not do. All gesalt does is gives you more options.

The character can only be in one stance at a time; however, it is not a waste. The character has more otions to use the better stance for the situation depending upon what the stance does. For example, a character doesn't always need to use Scent or have Fire Resistance 24 hours a day.
