| Sundragon08-08-05, 03:15 AM | I am thinking of using the level based defense adjustment presented in the UA for my game. I like the idea of someone not having to be a walking tank to defend themselves. However, should someone need armor does the defense bonus stack with the adjustment given to AC by armor? Maybe I can't find it because I am tired but I am drawing a blank here. Chris |

Many complained that the defense bonus is too high for some classes (overpowered) and too low for other classes (underpowered). My recommendation? Use d20 Modern rules on Class Defense bonus (also found in the d20 Modern System Reference Document or MSRD). At least they stack by RAW. |

According to the D20 modern SRD (tanslated to D&D): 10 + Dexterity modifier + class bonus + equipment bonus (any armor or shield worn)+ size modifier= AC Does that sound right? Chris |

So, with the both systems, you can totally separate the dodging of the deflecting damage so the armor reduces the damage and your dex and fighting skill allows to advoid blows. |
