| Lord Dastir10-12-05, 12:12 PM | with a DM who is starting a game in acouple of weeks using the spell point system. Let me just say that I think spell points rule - when I first saw it in action in the psionics books, I thought "this is the way spellcasters should work". I am very excited to give this a try. We decided that a ring of wizardry would grant bonus spell points based on how many spells it would give the wearer. i.e. Ring of Wizardry that doubles 1st level spells. If the character could normally cast 3 1st level spells, then he gets enough bonus spell points to cast 3 more 1st level spells. If the caharacter later goes up in level so he could normally cast 4 1st level spells, the ring now gives him enough spell points to cast 4 1st level spells. This way the ring continues to scale with the caster, as it did when it was doubling the number of spells. What do you think? |

I think the whole item tree needs to be houseruled if you're doing spell points, as Rings of Wizardry (Spell Points X), which add a specific number of spell points to your pool, and assign a monetary value to them accordingly. |
