Kedami 09-04-07, 08:48 PM	On page 60 of the Unearthed Arcana there's the Rapid Summoning (Ex) variant that allows the caster to summon as a standard action and gains the benefits of the Quicken Spell feat. Does that mean that the caster can cast another spell (one that is a free action by the looks of it)? Does it also mean that the summoned creature appears, can only perform a standard action, and then disappears at the end of that turn for 1st level casters?
Wampameat 09-05-07, 12:00 AM	It means that since you can cast Summon spells as standard actions, that you can apply Quicken Spell to those spells - making them free actions. Not sure I'd do it that way myself - SM1 as a 5th level spell is unimpressive, compared to casting MM quickened followed by SM5 as your normal spell for the round. *shrug* And one could argue that the creature would disappear at the start of the caster's next action. Since the spell has a duration of one round. -VIC
