| Atropos1903-21-08, 09:48 AM | I'm playing a cleric with a low charisma. Any good ideas for what to do with turn undead. I couldn't find a variant. If anyone has any ideas please tell me. |
| M-bark03-21-08, 10:23 AM | Most Variant Turning I know of is based off Charisma. There's a variant that switched turning undead for turning evil outsiders and rebuking nonevil outsiders. You could ask your DM if he would allow the turning to be based off a different stat, like Strength. If you give him/her a good reason for it, he/she might allow it. Still, if you wanted to have good turning as a Cleric, I say you just should have put a higher score/more points in Charisma. Cleric priorities: Wis > Cha > Con > Str/Dex/Int. |
| Atropos1903-21-08, 10:37 AM | I understand the ability priorities for clerics. I'm going for skypledged and my ability scores aren't exactly ideal. I plan to focus on spellcasting and possibly a little archery. My character has maybe come into contact with undead once in his life. He hardly even knows anything about them. I saw something that gave them spontaneous domain spells on top of healing. I might see if he'd go for that. |

(here's an example (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/featsList.html#divine-vengeance)) Those provide some pretty nice uses for the Turning ability when undead aren't available. I think it would be totally fair for you to get a divine feat for free in exchange for losing the ability to use your turning attempts to actually turn undead. |
| ClockworkRevenge03-29-08, 02:23 AM | Destroy Undead Variant: you do your cleric level in d6s to undead in a 30' burst around your character. |
| Michaelk03-29-08, 10:29 AM | Perhaps research a spell that grants a bonus to turning undead? If you're going for the spellcaster angle that is. |
