variant wizard clases [Archive] - Wizards Community

Also, I agree. I never even considered playing a wizard until I saw the Skeletal minion variant.

03-01-04, 04:39 PM I really like the last Transmuter variant, the one where you get to change some of the spells you have memorized (I believe the downside is that you don't get the bonus spells). This counters the wizard's main weakness when compared to a sorcerer - if he doesn't have a specific spell memorized or as a scroll, he's in trouble if the spell is needed (like Comprehend Languages or Knock).

Also, this allows a bunch of low-level spells to be converted into higher level spells; a 6th level wizard could take three 1st level spells and turn them into an extra Fireball! I luv it. :love:
