okay, so my group doesn't really like the magic system in DnD. they all want to be warrior-type classes, but i don't know how to let them stand a chance at survival. i was thinking that i'd let them heal their full HP with a night's rest, but i don't know how else to keep them from dying. any suggestions?

THIS (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/adventuring/reservePoints.htm) could help.

in one game, as a joke we made healing potions free. But jars were nearly impossible to find.

you could make it a low magic world, where healing potions are incredibly cheap.

or you could make them go gather chickens to get a jar for the free potions

i didn't get the joke until you started talking about chickens. could they then also find little quarters of hearts to gain hp?:P

Tome of Battle.

Excellent suggestion. Among other things, one of the disciplines (Whtie Raven, I beleive) has maneuvers that recover HP for the character using them and his allies.
