What the HECK are those two looking at!!!! [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-08-04, 08:24 PM Perhaps this is just silly, but something has been bugging me. . . :D

On page 88 of Unearthed Arcana (under the section on traits) this orc and dwarf are staring at this elf, but their is no caption to go with the picture, so what the heck are they looking at anyway? :confused:

(I think the orc has a weird "What the *word that would be censored by the board*!" look on his face. And judging from the angle of his head he is looking at her head, maybe eyes. But what trait is that pic supposed to be illustrating???) :confused:

The elf in question has one blue eye, and one green eye...

As for what it represents... my guess would be traits... possibly (though not definately) distinctive.

Thanks for pointing that out, I must have missed it earlier. It is kinda hard to see that detail in my house (I tend to have a lot of low lighting).

07-11-04, 03:05 PM That explains a lot. I just borrowed the UA from a friend and was also irritated by this picture. (And I also didn't notice the different irises of that elf).

07-13-04, 10:57 PM I've been looking at that picture for a while now after reading the above posts, and I swear both eyes are blue. And no, I'm not color blind.

Question is, what would be the mechanics for this trait? I'm thinking something along the lines of +1 to Perform (a distinctive appearance gets attention) and -1 to Disguise (assuming the trait would be something difficult to hide).
